MONROE - You may have heard of the "dog days of summer," but spring is the time for cats at the Green County Humane Society.
GCHS is offering a 2-for-1 special on cats and kittens in March and April.
During this time, kittens up to one year old can adopted two for $63. One kitten is available for $32.
Two adult cats can be adopted for $30, or one adult cat for $15.
All animals adopted from GCHS have been seen by an area veterinarian and are up-to-date on vaccinations.
Animals that are old enough have been spayed or neutered. All adoptions are pending an approved application by GCHS.
The special prices on cats will continue through March and April.
This is a busy time of year at the animal shelter, as new batches of kittens continue to arrive. Anyone considering adding a feline family member is encouraged to come down the GCHS shelter and find their "purr-fect" companion.
GCHS operates the shelter at 1500 6th Ave. in Monroe. Hours of operation are from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
It is closed Monday, Wednesday and holidays. More information about the shelter, making financial contributions and animals needing adoption is available on the GCHS Web site at www.greencountyhumane.org or by calling 325-9600.
