Monroe FFA to compete for honors

MONROE - The Monroe FFA chapter was selected to compete for national recognition in an FFA career development event at the 88th National FFA Convention and Expo.

The Monroe High School FFA chapter will send members to Louisville, Kentucky as they vie for national honors in agricultural technology and mechanical systems. FFA members who will represent the chapter include Joel Faith, Mitch Millner, Nick Maveus and Traiten Gorr. The chapter advisor is Danielle Pernot.

National support for the career development event is provided by Caterpillar Inc. and Firestone Farm Tires.

The participants take a written test and demonstrate their skills through hands-on activities in machinery and equipment systems, electrical systems, environmental and natural resources systems, structural systems and energy systems.
