MONROE - The Memory Cafe is a social gathering for individuals living with memory loss, earlier stages of dementia including Alzheimer's, and family and friends of those affected. It is a time to gather for laughter, relaxation, activities, companionship and refreshments. It is not an educational workshop about dementia, but resources will be available.

The cafe is held the second Wednesday of each month from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Blends and Friends Cafe, located inside the Behring Senior Center. If an individual is planning to attend or has questions, contact Whitney Thompson at 608-426-4295.

There always will be time at the cafe to relax and socialize, but activities will be available for a portion of the time.

A tentative schedule of events includes: July 13, a visit from the Green County Humane Society to enjoy the company of some of the animals; Aug. 10, photo/memorabilia sharing - bring a photo or keepsake to discuss; and Sept. 14, cheese tasting and Cheese Days celebration.
