MAC’s 48th season opens soon

MONROE — Monroe Arts Center (MAC) will open their 48th season in September presenting a variety of high-quality entertainment for the entire family. The 2022-2023 season includes nine performances in the MAC Season Shows, four concert events in the MAC Events and MAC Special Shows Series’, four Sunday Concert Series performances, three free Family and Kids Series performances, six Sounds of Summer outdoor concerts, and twelve gallery exhibitions. 

The season opens on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. with Improv at the MAC Comedy Club led by Jackie Wise who has performed improv with Chicago’s Second City. Stand up Comedy from The Comedy Zone will be offered in the spring on Saturday, April 15, 2023. 

MAC’s Season Shows begin on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. with the award-winning vocal arrangements of M-PACT, hailed as one of the best pop/jazz vocal groups in the world. M-PACT is respected worldwide as a cutting-edge trailblazer in the realm of vocal music.

Other 2022-2023 Season Shows include, the always inspiring Notre Dame Glee Club, Broadway legend, Hugh Panaro, and the unusual blend of stand-up, improvisation, and magic of “The Chipper Experience” with Chipper Lowell. Grammy nominated, singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman also returns to the MAC stage this season, along with the “Interactive Beatles Experience, Yesterday and Today” and many other great shows throughout the season.

Opening the Sunday Concert Series on Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. will be the highly regarded brass ensemble, Wisconsin Brass Quintet. The other three concerts rounding out the classical concert series include the Wingra Wind Quartet from the UW-Madison Mead Witter School of Music, ensemble in residence at UW-School of Music, the Pro Arte String Quartet, and the perennially popular Madison Youth Choirs.
