MAC to offer A New Old Fashioned Christmas

MONROE — The Monroe Arts Center will present “A New Old Fashioned Christmas,” a virtual holiday concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20. The concert will be filled with traditional seasonal music, beloved Americana tunes, and folk rock favorites aimed to brighten the day and spirits of the audience. 

The virtual concert will take place using Facebook Live through MAC’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/monroeartscenter. The event will be co-hosted by Kathy Hennessy, MAC Executive Director, and Kevin Callahan, MAC Board President. In addition, drink mixologist Dan Blum will be on-hand, creating and sharing his recipes for special holiday cocktails. Live house music will be provided by pianist and musician, Cindy Blanc.

World-renowned singer and songwriter William Florian will share some of his favorite, heart-warming American Folk songs for this holiday concert. As former lead singer of the iconic band The New Christy Minstrels, Florian mesmerizes audiences with his delightful personality, beautiful voice, and stellar stage presence. 

Wisconsin native Jodi Beach will also join the Christmas festivities at MAC. Best known as a versatile vocalist and pianist, Jodi is also a storyteller, and a theme weaver creating a scrapbook of our lives presented in song. Her performances invite the audience on a sentimental journey of melodies and lyrics that will leave them smiling and bring a tear to their eyes.

Neil McLinden will also be joining the concert at MAC. Neil is a New York City-based singer, actor, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Brookfield, he began playing piano and singing from an early age, and quickly developed an interest in many different musical styles. In New York City, Neil is a musical theater accompanist and performance teacher at the Neighborhood Playhouse school of acting, and also produces and performs music with his friends and associates.
