To the Editor:
So I hear there is an election coming up soon here in Monroe, Green County Wisconsin! What an excellent opportunity to exercise your right to vote. I’ve heard your vote is a seed that planted in the soil of our community, figuratively speaking. Which begs the question for us, what is it that you and I want to grow here in our community? It’s a question that each of us as individuals need to decide in his or her own heart. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control are, I think, great things to plant, to water, and to tend. This is true in our individual hearts, as well as in the heart of our community collectively. The people we elect to represent us are tasked with doing just this: represent the will of the people with good judgement and common sense in good conscience and to the best of their ability.
All that to say, you will see my name on the ballot for Monroe Common Council. As far as I can see our Monroe City Council has been doing a fine job. My streets are clean. My city is safe. My neighborhood is quiet and friendly. I’ve lived here all my adult life and I think Monroe is a good-hearted community. I’d like to keep it that way. Or maybe make it even better. That’s why I would appreciate your vote when you go to the ballot box on Tuesday, April 4th, and see my name there.
Thank you.
