Donovan: Jon Aleckson Reforming Wisconsin in Housing Affordability
Letter To The Editor

From Paul Donovan

Monroe

To the Editor:

Anyone who lives in Wisconsin’s 50th State Assembly District should vote for Jon Aleckson this November. One of the biggest issues of our time is affordability in home ownership whether involving a first-time home buyer or retired senior citizens depending on a fixed income like social security. At either end of the age spectrum, the struggle is real. The disaster in the housing market is preventing most people under the age of 40 from attempting to purchase their first home. It is contributing to a reduction in the ability to earn equity. And is delaying young people from starting or even considering having a family plus more senior citizens today are forced to either sell their homes or sign them over to a relative. Jon Aleckson understands the importance of home ownership “a Golden Piece of The American Dream” and the struggle young people and senior citizens are facing to become or to remain homeowners. Jon Aleckson has released his new plan in addressing the housing cost crisis, a property tax freeze for seniors and to pass legislation to cut the red tape on housing regulations here in the State of Wisconsin, while doubling the homestead tax credit. This November all citizens in Green and parts of Dane county should vote for Jon Aleckson. And for any who do not live in the 50th District. They should assist Jon by calling their Assembly representatives and asking them to push for and vote for reductions in housing regulations on starter homes and a Constitutional Amendment and Statewide Referendum to make this property tax freeze for senior citizens permanent.
