To the editor:

A huge heartfelt thank you to all of the people who made a donation to the "Red Kettle Campaign" for the Salvation Army this winter whether through our mail campaign, putting change or bills in the kettle or by making a donation through your work place. Your generous donations to our 2015 Red Kettle Campaign ended with a very successful season which broke the record for seasonal giving in Green County for our organization which is so very much appreciated. Thank you also to the many volunteer "bell ringers," especially those who volunteered on multiple occasions; we could not do this campaign without you. Thanks to both Walmart and Shopko for allowing our bell ringers to ring inside your building vestibules and greet your holiday customers. Thank you to those businesses who offer to make donations through your employees' Charity Choice programs. Thank you to the businesses and people of New Glarus, Monticello, Brodhead and Albany who also participate in the Red Kettle Campaign.

The Salvation Army is an organization that offers help to Green County citizens who may have fallen on hard times and do not have enough food, clothing, shelter, transportation, housing, medical supplies, addiction recovery and of course disaster type help in case of fire, tornado, flooding. The list is so long for what this organization stands for and is able to do each year with your generous donations but if you are interested please go to our state website at www.salvationarmywi.org/.

All donations that go to the Red Kettle Drive by kettle or mail envelope and any donations sent directly to the local Salvation Army will be used in Green County. Any donations that are mailed to the State Organization will be used throughout the state and world as needed.

What We Do: The Salvation Army strives to be timely and efficient as it examines and addresses needs within a community. It continues to seek ways to change people's lives by elevating the human spirit through the gift of Christian love. We lift people up - get them on their feet - help them grow in all dimensions of life.

Thank you again for your generous hearts from all of us at Salvation Army of Green County.
