I hope we all realize, when we cast our ballots in the next election, that Americans simply can't afford more of the obstructionism that is holding us back from solving problems and making progress that is important to all of us, especially the middle class. It would be great to bring equal opportunity to an economy that's turning the gap between the rich and rest of American into a financial Grand Canyon. Our state of Wisconsin is ninth out of 10 Midwestern states in job creation and has fallen from 11th to 35th in the nation. The reason might be our governor is spending more time in other states (at our expense) campaigning for the presidency, so he doesn't have much time to handle Wisconsin's business. The cost of security, out-of-state lodging and salary benefits, have more than tripled since this governor took office. He should reimburse the state for all his junkets across the country trying to increase his popularity with the tea party. As a tea party Republican, Gov. Walker is waging all-out war on workers' rights, women's rights, voting rights and public education. For Wisconsin, there is a crystal clear difference between Mary Burke's job-creating ability and Scott Walker's extremism. All charts and graphs reveal that Mary Burke, of course, is the choice.
It is important that we get out to vote on Aug. 12 in Wisconsin's primary and on Nov. 4 in the general election. Should you find it difficult to personally get to the polls on election day, you may call your township clerk or city clerk now to obtain an absentee ballot.
