Many blossoms: The Monroe Noon Optimist would like to thank all those who came to the Santa Reception last Friday evening at the Wisconsin Bank and Trust in Monroe. We thank all those who played a part in making this event happen. It brought holiday cheer to many area children and families. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. - Jean Sinkule, Monroe Noon Optimists

A bouquet of blossoms to Jeff Wunschel and our Green County Highway Department crew for keeping county roads clear of snow and ice, and motorists safe during the winter. They are out at all hours to keep the roads open. We experienced a taste of winter driving this past weekend and there's likely more to come. Some adjoining counties are not as prompt and efficient as our highway department. Keep up the good work. - an appreciative commuter

The Main Street Monroe Christmas Committee would like to extend our appreciation and a poinsettia full of blossoms to everyone who made last week's Christmas event a success. The parade, lighting contest, Christmas Coach tours, Santa reception and other events that were part of the event were a success thanks in part to many individuals, organizations, and city employees. Thank you to all of you who attended and Happy Holidays. - Brooke Bauman, Main Street Monroe president

A blossom to John Daane for conducting another great Northside concert on Dec. 11 at the Performing Arts Center. The selections were uplifting and performed with lots of energy and enthusiasm by the students putting us in a holiday spirit. Thanks to all teachers, staff and every single student from Northside who did such a good job. Blossoms again, Mr. Daane. - Jana Miller
