BRODHEAD - The Beloit Turner baseball team had a big eight-run fourth inning and cruised to a 15-0, five-inning win over Brodhead-Juda on Tuesday.
The Cardinals were limited to just three hits. Brodhead-Juda junior Skyler Stuckey, Layne Millard and Tyler Hoesly each went 1-for-2 for the Cardinals.
Junior Matt Schmitt pitched 31⁄3 innings and gave up nine earned runs on five hits. He walked six. Junior Blake Burns pitched1⁄3 of an inning and gave up three runs and walked two. Junior Alex Nipple tossed 11⁄3 innings and gave up two runs - none earned on two hits. The three pitchers for the Cardinals combined to walk eight batters.
