Roth lifts Juda-Albany over Pec

BLANCHARDVILLE - Sophomore Maddie Roth went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI to lead the Juda-Albany softball team to a 15-0 five-inning win over Pecatonica on Thursday.

Juda-Albany (14-5, 11-0 Six Rivers East), ranked second in the WisSports.net Division 4 coaches' poll, had a nine-run first inning to set the tone.

Juda-Albany senior Jessica Crull went 2-for-3, and junior Alexis Goecks was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI. Junior Sara Jordan went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and junior Sayde McDermott also finished 2-for-4. Sophomore teammate Hailey Kammerer scored three runs.

Jordan pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up seven hits, struck out three and walked two.

Senior Kailee Schraepfer went 2-for-3 to lead the Vikings.

Pecatonica senior Clara Moen pitched three innings and gave up 11 runs, but just four earned runs on 15 hits. The Vikings were plagued by three errors.



Palmyra-Eagle 14, Brodhead 3

BRODHEAD - Brodhead committed five errors, and Palmyra-Eagle slugged its way to a win over the Cardinals .

Palmyra-Eagle scored three runs in the first and two runs in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.

Palmyra-Eagle had 14 hits compared to nine for the Cardinals.

Brodhead junior Ali Roisheisen had three hits to lead the Cardinals.

Brodhead sophomore Azzy Steiner pitched a complete game and gave up 14 runs on 14 hits. She struck out four.



Belmont 14, Black Hawk 5

SOUTH WAYNE - Junior Paige Nolan went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI to power the Braves to a win over Black Hawk.

Nolan also pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up three earned runs on six hits. Nolan struck out four and didn't issue a walk.

The Warriors had a 5-4 lead after three innings. Belmont had a five-run fourth and a five-run seventh.

Sophomore Hannah Herbst went 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Warriors.

Black Hawk senior Rachel Ritschard pitched a complete game and gave up nine earned runs on 14 hits. She struck out four and walked five.
