PRAIRIE DU CHIEN - The Darlington-Cuba City girls golf team picked the perfect time to turn in a season-best team score Wednesday.
The Redbirds shot a 405 to dominate its three-team conference tournament. Lancaster finished second with a 418 and Prairie du Chien was third with a 447.
Darlington's last conference championship in girls golf came in 2002.
The Redbirds' back nine total of 193 is the best score shot in the last four years, according to head coach Gary Ringen.
Medalist honors went to Lancaster's Shannon Farrey, who carded an 85, but Nellie Black was only two strokes back, shooting an 87 for second place as an individual.
Rounding out the Redbirds' scoring foursome were Ali McCaluey with a 98, Dani Larson with a 108 and Taylor Burke with a 112.
