GRATIOT - With two outs in the top of the seventh inning, the Black Hawk High School softball team was clinging to a one-run lead Thursday against Potosi.

Black Hawk senior pitcher Rachel Ritschard walked two straight batters to load the bases, and Potosi's Taylor Bloyer followed with a two-run single up the middle to lift the Chieftains to a 5-4 win over Black Hawk.

"Tough loss," Black Hawk coach Jim Baumgartner said. "We got (Bloyer) out at second trying to stretch it into a double. We couldn't manage to get a baserunner on in the bottom of the seventh inning."

Black Hawk junior Sam Lovelace went 2-for-3 and Ritschard had two RBI for the Warriors (2-3, 1-2 Six Rivers East).

Potosi's Maddie Hawes went 3-for-3 and Kate Nusbaum was 2-for-3. Ritschard pitched a complete game for the Warriors and gave up four earned runs on eight hits. She struck out three and walked two.
