EAST TROY - Monroe junior Eva Priewe at No. 2 singles is advancing to the Whitewater sectional after her play in the WIAA Division 2 East Troy regional Monday.
Priewe defeated Jefferson's Jazmyne Schoeller 6-1, 6-4. The semifinalists in the subsectional at No. 1 singles and the finalists in each other flight advance to the Whitewater sectional Wednesday.
Madison Edgewood won the nine-team subsectional over McFarland 24-16. Monroe finished seventh (4). Priewe is now 10-7 and finished second place at No. 2 singles behind Madison Edgewood sophomore Jessica Inman (23-4).
Edgewood advanced all four singles players and three doubles teams to the sectional.
The Cheesemakers had a tough draw at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Jefferson's Molly Balliet defeated Monroe senior Chelsea Miller at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0. At No. 1 doubles, Whitewater's Sally Hixson and Alli Sedmak defeated Monroe seniors Erin Gellings and Paige Prien 6-3, 6-1.
