Sugar River stifles competition at East Troy

EAST TROY — Sugar River boys track and field team won the East Troy Invite on Friday, April 19 with 131 points. Second-place finisher, Badger, had 114.50 points.

Jack Erickson scored 33 points, winning the 100-meter dash (11.41), 200-meter dash (21.09) and 300-meter hurdles (40.73). His time in the 200-meter hurdles was a new school record. Carter Scholey also took first in the 3,200-meter run (9:53.16), beating the second-place finisher by over a minute. Sutton Zimmerman won the shot put (40-04), earning 10 points.

The girls took 6th of 11 teams with 64 points. Host East Troy won the girls division with 120 points. Addison Edge was the highest finisher, winning the 300-meter hurdles (52.87).


SAUK PRAIRIE RELAYS

PRAIRIE DU SAC — Straying from  its normal style of track meet, Monroe boys and girls took third and fourth in the Sauk Prairie relays on Friday, April 19. 

The Cheesemaker boys won the 1,600 sprint medley, comprised of a 200-, 200-, 400- and 800-meter run. The winning team was Jy’Shon Broitzman, Brody Cornfield, Tre Dammen and Seth Schmidt. James Seagreaves tied with three other athletes for first in the high jump with a height of 5-08.

The Lady Cheesemakers won the 800 sprint medley, comprised of a 100-, 100-, 200- and 400-meter dash. The winning team was Sophie McGuire, Lizzy Boll, Miley Hanson and Aleigh Zettle. Zettle also won the pole vault with a height of 10-00.


BULLDOG RELAYS

BOSCOBEL — Trading the Platteville Relays for the Bulldog Relays, Argyle-Pecatonica boys and girls track finished seventh with 25 and 29 points, respectively.

Ryan Harris was the highest finisher for the boys, taking second in the 300-meter hurdles (46.41). On the girls side, Anna Tisch won the 300-meter hurdles (47.74).
