On April 18:

● At 11:24 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries on 8th Street at STH 69. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Juan C. Mendez Andrade, 23, of Monroe, was eastbound on 8th Street and rear-ended another eastbound vehicle, operated by a 79-year-old Monroe man, which was stopped for a red traffic signal at STH 69. There was moderate damage to Mendez Andrade’s vehicle and minor damage to the other vehicle. Mendez Andrade was cited for following too closely, operating without a valid driver’s license and operating without vehicle insurance. Mendez Andrade was released pending a court appearance.

● At 9:08 p.m., officers arrested Jason R. Wahl, 36, of Monroe, following a traffic offense stop in the 1300 block of 17th Street. Wahl was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-2nd offense, and also cited for failure to stop for a stop sign. Wahl was released to a responsible adult pending a court appearance.
