Monroe U-14 soccer team splits games

Monroe's U-14 Rebel Scorpions hosted Milton on Saturday, May 2, and earned a 4-0 victory. Lucas Koch was goalie for the first half and had two saves.

Attempts on goal were made by Blake Duffy, James Frankowski, Dusty Burkhalter, Jonah Antos and Matt Hodgens. Jesse Keizer scored the first of three goals in the half. Duffy was assisted by Burkhalter for the second goal, and the final score by Antos was unassisted.

In the second half, Ben Prophett earned eight saves as goalie. Duffy scored the final goal to seal the win for the Rebels.

On Sunday, May 10, the team traveled to Sauk Prairie and had a very well fought game against a team with twice as many players. The Scorpions played hard the entire game despite having only one sub. The score was tied 2-2 at half time, but Sauk Prairie came away with the win 5-3.

Lucas Koch was goalie for the first half and finished with four saves. Duffy and James Frankowski each scored. Ben Prophett had six saves in goal in the second half. Frankowski scored again on an assist by Duffy.
