PLATTEVILLE - Monroe's boys cross country team finished first overall Saturday in the large school division at the Platteville Invitational, while Darlington and Albany finished 1-2 in the small school division for boys.
Brett DeNure finished third overall for Monroe with a time of 16 minutes, 18 seconds.
"(Brett's) time was the 15th fastest 5K ever run by a senior in the history of Monroe cross country," head coach Dave Hirsbrunner said.
DeNure, along with the top six finishers in the meet, broke the old course record.
Dylan Stark finished eighth overall for the Cheesemakers with a time of 16:43. Joe Pecora (17:07) and Cullen Sampson (17:10) finished ninth and 10th, respectively.
