FORT ATKINSON - Jamie Armstrong had 17 kills, five blocks and five aces for the Cheesemakers as the Monroe volleyball team rolled over Badger South foe Fort Atkinson in three games, 25-17, 25-12, 25-15, on Tuesday.
Kayla Streff had 23 assists, Abby Kennison had three of her six digs in one volley, Emily Rufenacht had six digs, and Chelsea Wyss had six kills in 11 attempts.
"Everybody played well," Monroe head coach Dave Gersbach said. "This was probably the first time we really clicked the entire match."
With Brianna Zimmerman nursing an injury, the Cheesemakers pounded the Blackhawks out of the gym.
"Everyone passed great. It was an all-around effort. We're doing really well right now," Gersbach said.
Monroe (4-4 Badger South) has gotten a boost recently, nearly beating conference rival Monona Grove in a thriller last week, then going 3-3 at the Wisconsin Heights Invitational last weekend. As the season progresses, Gersbach said he's confident in his team to continue improving its play.
