MONTICELLO — The Ponies advanced out of the opening round of the WIAA Division 4 playoffs relatively unchallenged with a 25-6, 25-12, 25-19 win over the Zephyrs Oct. 20.

Ellie Gustafson led the Ponies with 14 kills, while Hannah Clark had four kills, a block and four digs.Macey Freitag finished with five kills, and Macey Grant had five aces and nine digs. Alexa Siegenthaler had 17 assists, and Delenn Gillaspie added nine more.

Monticello advanced to play Shullsburg Oct. 22, with the winner playing either Black Hawk or Argyle in the regional final Oct. 24.

SHEBOYGAN — The Panthers saw their season come to an end with a 25-6, 25-10, 25-23 loss in the opening round of the WIAA Division 4 playoffs.
