MONROE — The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association and WisSports.net released its latest high school basketball polls Dec. 4, and Black Hawk girls are the No. 1 team in the state in Division 5.
The Warriors, who have lost just two games in the past two seasons, are unbeaten (4-0) and are coming off a right win over Platteville, ranked fifth in Division 3. Argyle (2-0) is ranked fifth. The two teams were set to square off Thursday in Argyle.
Monroe (4-2) was ranked second behind two-time defending state champion Beaver Dam. The Cheesemakers were upset at home by unbeaten Watertown hours after the rankings were made public.
On the boys side, New Glarus is the top-ranked team in Division 4. The Knights (4-0) were one spot ahead of Mineral Point, which lost to Darlington Dec. 4.
