Cheesemakers finish with seven 1sts, 2nds and 3rds

MONROE — The Cheesemakers picked up their first dual victory of the season Sept. 20, knocking off Mount Horeb at home 100-67.

Monroe-New Glarus finished with seven first-place, second-place and third-place finishes each.

First-place individual finishers include Megan Chapman in the 200-meter freestyle (2:17.14) and 400 freestyle (4:49.66), Anna Zentner in the 200 IM (2:43.01), Delaney Lynch in the 100 butterfly (1:12.39), and Riley Hoesly in the 100 backstroke (1:14.30). MNG’s 400 relay team of Lynch, Zentner, Hoesly and Chapman took first (4:26.04), and Zentner, Chapman, Lynch and Piper Faber teamed up to win the 200-free relay (2:02.42).

The MNG 200-medley relay pairing of Amelia Geib, Faber, Hoesly and Danika Doll finished second (2:21.03) by 1.4 seconds. Hoesly was second in the 50-free (29.89). Zentner was second in the 100-butterfly (1:13.44). Faber was second in the 100-free (1:10.89), Geib finished second in the 100-backstroke (1:15.36), and Maggie Piper was second in the 100-breaststroke (1:35.25). 

The next swim meet for MNG is Sept. 27 at Portage, with the home finale Oct. 4 against Sauk Prairie.
