DARLINGTON — Monroe girls blew the competition out of the water at the Darlington Redbird Invitational on Monday, May 6. 

The Cheesemakers scored 133 points, and second-place Cuba City scored just 99. Aleigh Zettle won the 400-meter dash and pole vault, while Nevaeh Huenefeld won the 3,200-meter run and was a member of the first-place 4x800 relay team. Aniyah Jackson-Bey also took first in the triple jump.

Albany boys fell to Cuba City by just five points (100-95) but was the top Six Rivers team at the meet — which included Cassville-Potosi, Belmont, Black Hawk, Argyle-Pecatonica, BSMS and Monticello. Jayden O’Bel, Bryce Hughes and Caleb Smith earned significant points, winning multiple events.

BOSCOBEL — With less than a week until the SWAL meet, participating teams had one last chance to see how they’d stack up against each other in competition. Fennimore will host the league meet on Monday, May 13 where the team and individual champions will be determined.
