WISCONSIN DELLS — The Glarner Knights celebrated its 76-66 win over Mauston Dec. 8 with a little more excitement. Senior Jaden Kreklow passes Larry Retrum for first place on the school’s all-time scoring list. It was the second career record Kreklow passed in less than two weeks (he also holds the career assists mark), and the guard will continue to build on his new mark of 1,337 points.

Kreklow led New Glarus with 35 points in the win, including 21 in the second half alone. It was his first field goal of the second half that gave him the all-time mark.

New Glarus trailed 37-35 at halftime but rallied in a big way in the second half. The Knights (5-0) hit two 3s in the period and finished 7 of 10 from the free throw line down the stretch.

Trevor Gassman had 18 for the Knights, and Mason Martinson added seven.

Mauston (2-1) was led by Cade Hall, who had 26 points, and Trevor Gallagher (13) and Kyran Fitzgerald (12).

Dec. 7 games

Darlington 50, Cuba City 44

DARLINGTON — The Redbirds continued their hot start to the season by picking up a big win over their top rivals.

Stryker Fitzsimons had 18 points to lead Darlington, which also got 16 from Carter Lancaster and eight from Trae Schilling.

The victory over the Cubans (2-1, 1-1 SWAL) was the second major conference win of the week for the Redbirds, who previously had knocked off Mineral Point (2-2, 1-1).

Darlington (4-0, 2-0), now share the conference lead with Southwestern (5-0, 2-0).

Pecatonica 74, Juda 32

BLANCHARDVILLE — Colton Schraepfer had 28 points and Jaden Hendrickson scored 24 as the Vikings continued their strong start to the season.

Schraepfer had 15 points in the first half, but finished 0-for-6 from the free throw line in that stretch, to put Pecatonica (5-1, 2-0) on top early. Hendrickson had 14 points in the opening frame as the Vikings jumped on top 37-26.

In the second half, Pecatonica’s defense stymied any thoughts of a letdown, holding the visiting Panthers to just six points on two buckets and two free throws in the final 18 minutes.

Gavin Kammerer led Juda with 13 points in the game. The Panthers (0-6, 0-2) lived and died with the long ball, hitting just three shots from inside the arc and eight from beyond — but none in the second half.
