DARLINGTON — The Lady Redbirds are hitting the ground running in their 2023 season, competing in two meets over three days.

Darlington saw the Southwestern-Cuba City-Benton co-op for the second time this year at the Wildcats’ Triangular on Monday, Aug. 14. At their home invite the Friday previous, the Redbirds fell to the Wildcats by one stroke. This time, Southwestern had a seven-stroke advantage (200-207). The two teams finished second and third, though, as Lancaster ran away with a 168 team score. Josie Meister led Darlington, carding a 44 with two birdies and six bogeys.

The Lady Redbirds took to the road again on Wednesday, Aug. 16 for an eight-team Invite in Wisconsin Dells. Darlington finished fourth, trailing second-place Southwestern by seven strokes, again. Meister recorded a 50, which was good enough for third overall.
