DODGEVILLE — Monroe picked up three dual wins at the Dodgeville triangular on Thursday, Dec. 14. The event also included Pecatonica-Argyle, Richland Center and host Dodgeville.
The Cheesemakers narrowly defeated the Dodgers 42-41. Connor Swindle’s (190) pin decided the match. Monroe handled Richland Center 45-33 and Pecatonica-Argyle 60-18. Four wrestlers were undefeated on the day. Caron Menehan (132) and Christian Schuh (150) tallied two pins and a forfeit, Braedyn Nally (157) accumulated two forfeits and a pin, while Joe Rufenacht (165) recorded one pin, decision and forfeit.
Due to multiple open weight classes, Pecatonica-Argyle lost each dual — 58-15 to Dodgeville and 42-28 to Richland Center. Aidan Gruenenfelder (113) and Lukas Rue (144) were undefeated in three matches. Gruenenfelder, who recently tallied his 100th career win, picked up a major decision, tech fall and forfeit. Rue pinned all three opponents.
