EDGERTON — The Cardinals couldn’t get passed the top-seeded Tiders in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal game May 31, falling 6-2.

Brady Malkow was tagged for five runs (two earned) in 4.1 innings before reaching the pitch limit in his final high school game. Clayton Elliott and Cooper Woelky both relieved in the fifth and sixth innings for the Cardinals.

Elliott had two hits at the dish, while Gabe Bockhop and Cullen Walker each finished with a double. Dylan Lewis walked twice and scored a run, and Ryan Searles had Brodhead-Juda’s only other score.

Peyton Lee and Steve Olson each had three hits for Edgerton, with Lee doubling and homering at the plate. On the mound, Lee struck out four and let two unearned runs cross in 5.2 innings. Justin Clark got the save.

Edgerton would lose to Madison Edgewood in the regional championship the next night.
