EAST TROY — Brodhead escaped East Troy with a 47-46 overtime victory Dec. 9.
The Rock Valley Conference game was heated throughout, with the visiting Cardinals taking a 1-point 23-22 lead into halftime. The Trojans were able to force it to overtime, where Brodhead outscored the hosts just 4-3.
Owen Leifker and Josiah Engen led Brodhead with 13 points each. Aidyn Vondra, Cullen Walker and Gage Boegli all had six points for the Cardinals, while Brady Malkow dominated the boards, pulling in 13 rebounds. Brodhead (3-0, 2-0 RVC) shot just 3-for-8 from the free throw line as a team, but hit 10 3-pointers on 21 attempts.
Colin Terpstra led East Troy (3-1, 1-1) with 18 points.
Barneveld 58,
Argyle 27
ARGYLE — Willie Helfvogt scored 13 points for the Orioles, but the Eagles cruised to a big Six Rivers East win Dec. 10.
Chase Ignatius led Barneveld (1-4, 1-0 Six Rivers East) with 19 points, and Trenton Owens added 12. Argyle (0-4, 0-2) was held to just 13 points in the first half and 14 in the second stanza.
Albany 47, Juda 45
ALBANY — The Comets held off Six Rivers East rival Juda Dec. 10 in a hotly contested game.
Albany led 26-24 at halftime, and kept pace ahead of Juda in the second half, despite finishing just 1-for-6 from the line down the stretch.
Tyler Anderson led Albany with 14 points, and Drew Sertle scored 10. Ja…. Schwartz added eight points.
Ward Steinmann led Juda with 20 points, Mason Kammerer had 14 and Aaron Makos nine.
Williams Bay 55,
Juda 38
WILLIAMS BAY — The Panthers fell behind by 12 at halftime and couldn’t catch back up in the second half in a nonconference loss to Williams Bay Dec. 11.
Makos led Juda with 14 points, while Steinmann had 10 and Kammerer nine. The Panthers hit five 3s and were 10 of 15 at the free throw line, including 6-for-8 in the second half.
Lodi 67, New Glarus 59
NEW GLARUS — Lodi’s Jaylen Montgomery scored 33 points, leading his team to an 8-point Capitol crossover win Dec. 10 at New Glarus High School.
Montgomery scored 11 points in the first half, but went off in the final 18 minutes, scoring 22 points and finishing 7-for-10 at the line down the stretch. He also hit three 3-pointers.
Jack Parman led New Glarus with 17 points, while Carter Siegenthaler finished with 14 points. Siegenthaler also added three 3s. Dain Walter and AC Strok each tallied eight points. The Knights finished 9-for-20 at the free throw line.
In other area boys basketball action Albany fell to Highland 70-63 on Dec. 11.
