ALBANY — The Comets improved to 7-3 in the Six Rivers East Conference with a three-set victory over Juda on Thursday, Oct. 5. Albany won 25-5, 25-8, 25-6.
Alana Durtschi paced the Comet offense with 10 kills, followed by Anna Ellinger with eight and Myah Johnson with seven. Ellinger contributed defensively with two blocks. Ellie Modaff and Avary Briggs combined for seven aces, while Modaff and Johnson split the setting duties. The pair tallied 19 assists.
Albany concludes its regular season with games against Black Hawk and Monticello, while Juda finishes with Pecatonica and Argyle.
ARGYLE 3, BLACK HAWK 0
ARGYLE — The Orioles reached .500 in conference with a sweep of Black Hawk on Thursday, Oct. 5. Argyle won 25-14, 25-15, 25-14.
Kylie Butler led the offense with 16 kills, while Ava Wiegel distributed the ball with 22 assists. Defensively, Mya McNett and Sadie Steiner had 11 digs each. The Orioles tallied nine aces, led by Brooke Wellnitz with four.
Argyle concludes its regular season with Barneveld and Juda, while Black Hawk finishes with Albany and Barneveld.
In other local volleyball, Brodhead fell to Big Foot in five sets. The Chiefs won 14-25, 25-19, 18-25, 25-15, 15-12. With the loss, Brodhead drops to 5-4 in conference, two games behind leaders Edgerton and Big Foot. The Cardinals conclude their regular season with Evansville.
