Lady Cards win Jim Church Invite

BRODHEAD - Senior Madee Harding won four events to lead the Brodhead-Juda girls track team to the championship of the Jim Church Invitational Friday.

The Cardinals racked up 142 points to run away with the team title over Elkhorn (115) in the 11-team invitational. Albany finished eighth (28), followed by Monticello in ninth (13) and Pecatonica-Argyle in 10th (7.5).

Harding won the 100-meter dash (12.41 seconds), 200 (25.99) and 400 (59.55). She also won the high jump with a mark of 5 feet. The Cardinals took first in the 1,600 relay (4:23.75) and Albany took second (4:27.78). Brodhead-Juda finished second in the 3,200 relay (10:35) and the Comets were third (11:10).

Brodhead-Juda's Maddie McIntyre took second in the 1,600 (5:44.68) and second in the 3,200 (12:44.88).

Brodhead-Juda's Rhianna Teubert finished second in the 100 hurdles (16.92), took third in the pole vault (8-0) and third in the 300 hurdles (51.43). Senior teammate Cora Purdue placed third in the 800 (2:35.1).

The Cardinals took third in the 400 relay (55.31) and third in the 800 relay (1:54.78).

Elkhorn won the boys in title with 182 points, which was well ahead of runner-up McFarland (111). Brodhead-Juda finished fourth (86) out of 11 teams. Albany took ninth (28), followed by Pecatonica-Argyle in 10th (16) and Monticello in last (11).

Brodhead-Juda senior Brekan Day won the high jump (6-2). Teammate Jeffery Williams took second in the 100 (11.24), and Michael Hatter finished third in the 1,600 (4:43.56).

Albany's Evan Blumer finished first in the discus (157-11) and placed fourth in the shot put (45-2). Pecatonica-Argyle's Joe Tisch placed fourth in the 800 (2:11.74).

The Cardinals won the 400 relay (45.35) and the 800 relay (1:35.21). Albany finished third in the 3,200 relay (8:50).
