HOME TALENT:: Wiota, NG and Monroe go 1-1 over the weekend

WIOTA - The Indians knocked off Dodgeville on Monday, 3-2, one day after falling to Argyle 6-2 in League action.

Brock Bidlingmaier picked up the win on Monday for Wiota. The Indians scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth after three walks and an error to get the win, despite being held to just three hits in the game.

Ben Wallace picked up the win for Argyle on Sunday. Argyle scored four runs in the third inning and pounded out 14 hits. Lee Bohlman was 4-for-5 for Argyle.

Hollandale 17, Monroe 4

MONROE - The Brewers were leveled by 19 Hollandale hits in a game that lasted just seven innings on Monday.

Ben Korth took the loss on the mound, allowing eight runs in 3 2/3 innings. Monroe used four pitchers in the game.

Hollandale led off the game hot. Quinn Schultz hit a two-run home run in the first inning. The Rockies then scored two more runs in the second, three in the third, four in the fourth and nine in the sixth. Monroe got its only runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Kyle Thompson was 4-for-5 and Jason Gordon was 3-4 for Hollandale. Adam Siegenthaler was 2-2, Rooney Janecke was 2-4 and Dan Purcell added a double for Monroe.

Monroe 5, Ridgeway 1

RIDGEWAY - Cody Boals struck out six hitters in 7 2/3 innings to get the win on Sunday. Justin Hahn pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to pick up the save.

Monroe scored two runs in the top of the ninth for insurance.

New Glarus 5, Blanchardville 3

BLANCHARDVILLE - John Pluss got the win on the mound for the Tourists on Monday. Pluss had four strikeouts and allowed eight hits and six walks. Vance Vlasak pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to get the save.

Josh Hathaway had 10 strikeouts in split time on the mound, allowing seven walks and eight hits.

Dodgeville 7, New Glarus 2

NEW GLARUS - The Tourists lost on Sunday, despite 8 2/3 innings and 13 strikeouts from Kyle Spurly.

Dodgeville led 3-2 after eight innings, but scored four runs in the ninth. In the game, Dodgeville had 11 hits to New Glarus' four.
