Dodgeville topples Cardinals

DODGEVILLE - The Brodhead softball team couldn't hang on to an early lead and Dodgeville came back to knock off the Cardinals 10-3 on Friday.

Dodgeville scored six runs in the fifth inning to seal the victory.

Brodhead junior Michelle Loeffelholz had two hits to lead the Cardinals. Senior teammate Whitney Gerber had two RBI.

Brodhead sophomore pitcher Azzy Steiner pitched six innings and gave up 10 runs on 12 hits. Brodhead committed two errors. Steiner struck out six and walked two.

Brodhead will play at Monroe on Monday.



Lake Mills 9, Pecatonica 2

LAKE MILLS - The Pecatonica softball team racked up 14 hits to out-hit Lake Mills, but the Vikings left 12 runners stranded and lost 9-2 to the L-Cats.

Pecatonica senior Kailee Schraepfer went 4-for-5 with two RBI to lead the Vikings. Senior teammate Kelsey Chrostowski went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Pecatonica senior Clara Moen pitched a complete game and gave up six earned runs on 11 hits. She struck out six and walked five.
