MILTON - Monroe's volleyball team improved to 6-5 in the Badger South and continued its spectacular turnaround season with a 27-25, 25-5, 19-25, 25-23 rollercoaster win Tuesday over Milton.
Jamie Armstrong had 14 kills, five blocks, and four aces for the Cheesemakers, who host Oregon (8-3) on Thursday to close out the regular season.
Kayla Streff continued perfecting her directing duties, as she orchestrated 20 assists into the spiking hands of teammates. Libero Emily Rufenacht added 19 digs for Monroe.
A Monroe win and a Monona Grove loss Thursday night would give Monroe a third-place finish in the Badger South. Monona Grove (7-4) travels to Fort Atkinson (3-8) on Thursday.
