BELMONT - Sadie Willborn tossed a five-hit shutout to lead Belmont to a 5-0 win over Black Hawk Thursday.

The game was first scheduled to be played in South Wayne, but was moved to Belmont because Black Hawk coach Curt Leuzinger said Black Hawk's field wasn't ready to be played on.

"Willborn is a very good pitcher," Leuzinger said. "Our girls for the most part put the bat on the ball. We just didn't find the gaps. I was really happy with that because we haven't been outside much and that is a sign of some positive things to come."

Black Hawk sophomore Natalie Leuzinger went 2-for-3 and senior Cheyenne Stewart was 1 for-1 with a walk. With the loss, Black Hawk drops to 1-2.

Willborn pitched a complete game and struck out six and walked one. Black Hawk sophomore Hannah Butler pitched a complete game and gave up four earned runs on six hits, while striking out four and walking one.

Black Hawk plays at New Glarus today.
