Sara Jane Wenger, age 88, of Monroe passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the SSM Hospice Home. She was born on July 1, 1936 in Albany, WI. She graduated from Albany High School. Jane was united in marriage to R. John “Jack” Wenger in 1966.

Jane worked for Swiss Colony for a short time. She then went to work for the Monroe School District, as a cook and lunch server for the high school, Abraham Lincoln, and finally the middle school for numerous years. In total she served the school district for 50 years and was one of the longest tenured employees. She adored the kids she worked with daily, they were her favorite part of the job. Jane was an avid Brewers fan and enjoyed watching Badger games with her grandson, Ian. She always kept herself busy, whether it was just around the house or spending time with her family.

Jane is survived by her son, John Wenger; grandchildren, Ian, Heather, Ryan, Jeremy, and Fiona Wenger all of Madison; sister, Shelby Truitt of Delaware, and cousin, Jean Quint. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Ken Briggs. 

A Graveside Service will be held at 12PM (noon) on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A Celebration of Jane’s Life will immediately follow the service at the North Shelter in Twining Park.
