Maxine Burri, age 86 of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Mystic Park Nursing Home. She was born on November 21, 1933 the daughter of Alfred and Minnie (Stiefel) Schumacher in rural Dixon, Illinois. Maxine married Dwight Burri on December 1, 1951 in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Maxine and Dwight farmed in Monticello and Monroe for the next 50 years. Unable to fully retire, Maxine then began working at the Monroe Pizza Hut until Dwight’s death in 2003 when she relocated to San Antonio. She was an active member of Calvary Temple, Assemblies of God Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Kris Brehm of Helotes, Texas; three grandchildren, Alex, a senior at the University of Alabama, Luke and Erin at home; her brother, Alfred Schumacher of Monroe and her sister, Helene Timm of Rochelle, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwight; and brothers, Rev. Russell Schumacher and Richard Schumacher.

A memorial service will be held in Monroe on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
