Judy D. Tway, age 79 of Monroe formerly of Albany, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at SSM Health Monroe Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born the daughter of John and Lillian (Legler) Kolb on December 4, 1945 in Monroe. Judy was attended Monroe High School. She was united in marriage to Douglas Tway on October 6, 1979 in Albany.
Judy worked for many years at Advance Transformers, where she retired in 1990. She loved to garden, and took great joy in both flowers and vegetables. She especially loved tending to her rose bushes. In addition to her gardening, Judy was known for her exceptional baking and cooking skills. She also enjoyed quilting and painting.
Judy treasured time spent with her family and her dogs. She held a particularly special bond with her grandson, Jake and his two sons. Above all, Judy will be remembered for her kind and caring spirit. She was a woman who always put others before herself and never had a bad word to say.
Judy is survived by her mother, Lillian Kolb of Monroe; daughter, Jody (Tim) Grossen of Monroe; grandchildren, Jacob Lincicum, Allissa Tway, and Mckenzie (Josh) Stern; great-grandchildren, Carter and Wyatt Lincicum, and Aubrie, Beckham, and Charles Stern; sister and dear friend, Shirley Gertsch of Monticello; sisters, Norma (Larry) Nipple of Albany, and Sally (Denny) Jordan of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved father, John Kolb; her husband, Doug Tway; her son, Jeff Tway; her daughter, Julie, in infancy; and her special brother-in-law, Duane Gertsch.
Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net
