Evelyn G. Ritschard, age 92 of Monticello, died Saturday December 23, 2023 at Monroe Hospice Home. She was born on March 5, 1931 in Jordan Township, the daughter of Fred and Gladys (Unger) Schuetz. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1949 and a year later she married Donald Ritschard on August 20, 1950 at Zwingli Church in Monticello. Evelyn lived in the Monroe and Monticello area her entire life. She helped her husband on the farm and raised her 7 children there. She enjoyed quilting, baking, and loved to listen and dance to old-time music. A new baby in the family always made her smile and visits from her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren always “made her day.” She was a member of Washington Reformation Church; served 40 years as Treasurer of Washington Reformation cemetery.

She is survived by a special friend, Raland Ritschard; children: John (Tammy) Ritschard, Jeff Ritschard, Dan (Brenda) Ritschard, Sue (Dave) Wild, and Vicki (Jake Disch) Ritschard daughter-in-law, Lisa Ritschard; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Doris (George) Norton. Also, sister-in-laws: Darlyne Segner and Marlys Hegge; brother-in-law, Mike (Sandy) Ritschard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gladys (Unger) Schuetz; husband, sons: Roger, who died in Vietnam in 1970 and James; sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Duane Schwartz. Also mother and father-in-law, Herman and Emma (Grossen) Ritschard; brother and sister-in-law, Hank and Betty Ritschard, Bobby and Sun Bun Ritschard; brother-in-law, Delbert Ritschard, John Hegge and Elton Segner; sister-in-law, Leona Ritschard.

Private Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 with Pastor Kelly Volk officiating. Burial will be in Washington Reformation Church cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday December 28, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM At SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.
