Edna Louise Kramer, age 102, peacefully entered eternal life on Sunday, June 12, 2022. She was born on April 21, 1920 in Monroe, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ernest & Marie (Giesler) Rufenacht. Edna attended Grade school & High school in Monroe, Wisconsin.
Edna married Frank “Teenie” Hendrickson, the love of her life, in 1941. Frank & Edna lived in Burlington, Iowa where they had their daughter, Jane. Frank passed away in 1951. Edna & Frank owned and operated a restaurant in Darlington, Wisconsin until his death. At which time, Edna moved to Madison and attended Milwaukee Academy of Beauty School. She worked as a beautician in Monroe and later owned and operated Jan-Eda Beauty Salon. She worked as a beautician until she was 88 years old. She was a long-time member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Monroe. Edna married Herbert Kramer in September of 1961. Herbert passed away July 2000.
Edna is survived by her grandchildren, Mike (Jolene) McKenna Freeport, IL and Kathy (Jim) Becker of Monroe; 5 great-grandchildren, Hilary Stone, Matt (Meghan) McKenna, Nicole (Nick) Baker, Brianna (Jacob Hameister) Becker, Brittney Becker; and 5 great-great grandchildren, Adeline & Jack Stone, Caleb & Nolan McKenna, and Kaiden Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Frank Hendrickson & Herbert Kramer; her daughter, Jane McKenna; sister, Helen Mallory, and brother, Robert Rufenacht.
She will be fondly remembered for her love of family & special love for dogs.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Reverend Tiff Bates officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington.
