Bradley R. Pehl, age 66 passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at his home. He was born on January 25, 1960 the son of Donald and Clarice (Berget) Pehl. He graduated from Black Hawk High School in 1978. Brad married his high school sweetheart Nancy Ruegsegger on October, 15 1983 in Gratiot.
Brad owned and operated Pehl Trucking for many years and also drove semi for several other companies throughout his career. Most recently, he worked in the Traffic Department at Swiss Colony for 16 years before retiring on September 30, 2025.
Brad was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, the John Deere Collectors Club, and the Blackhawk Cruisers. He enjoyed old cars, especially his 57 Ford Retractable and tractors. Brad never met a stranger and genuinely loved people, especially his wife and family. He loved traveling and was fortunate to visit Switzerland, the Virgin Islands, Alaska, Hawaii, California, Arizona, Florida, and North Carolina. Brad will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, warm hugs, willingness to help others, colorful shirts, and cheerful outlook on life.
Brad is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; siblings, Brenda (Art) Payne of Monroe, Todd (Jean) Pehl of Janesville, and Tim Pehl of Gratiot; aunts, Joyce Steinmann and Mazie Pehl; uncle, David “Buzz” (Patti) Pehl; second mom, Lenita Stark; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of Life/Luncheon starting at 11:00 AM with a service following at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Reverend Zach Bloom officiating.
