MONROE - The Youth Mental Health First Aid course will be offered at the Green County Justice Center lower-level multipurpose rooms at 2841 6th St. in Monroe from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Friday.

Just as CPR helps one to assist an individual having a heart attack - even with no clinical training - Mental Health First Aid helps one to assist someone experiencing a mental health-related issue or crisis.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid course will teach the risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies on how to help youth in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

The $25 fee includes lunch and materials. Register by Thursday by calling Bridget Mouchon-Humphrey at Green County UW Extension, 608-328-9440, or emailing bridget.mouchon@ces.uwex.edu.
