Wintry mix hits today, Tuesday

MONROE - A mix of rain and snow are expected to cause slippery roads and limit visibility from noon today until noon Tuesday, according to a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service.

The NWS estimates total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches in portions of south-central Wisconsin, including Green and Lafayette counties, with some areas getting even more.

After intense snowfall today, freezing drizzle is possible tonight and will be followed by more snow Tuesday morning. Wind gusts around 30 mph or stronger are expected to cause drifting snow, which will lower visibility.
