BELMONT — Two people were arrested in Belmont for a variety of drug violations near a school, Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gill said in a press release.
According to law enforcement, at approximately 6:33 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Belmont Police Department and the Richland, Iowa, Grant Drug Task Force, executed a narcotics search warrant at 2 Dawn Vista Drive, in the Village of Belmont.
The search warrant resulted in the arrest of two individuals who live at the residence. Alonzo A. Criss (40), and Alissa K. Hoag (30) were taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette County Jail where they remain pending an initial appearance in Lafayette County Circuit Court.
Both Criss and Hoag were booked into jail on the following tentative charges.
● Delivery of THC within 1000 feet of a park with a firearm enhancer.
● Delivery of Methamphetamines within 1000 feet of a park with a firearm enhancer.
● Delivery of Cocaine within 1000 feet of a part with a firearm enhancer.
● Maintaining a Drug Trafficking place.
● Possession with intent to deliver Cocaine within 1000 feet of a park with a firearm enhancer.
● Possession with intent to deliver THC within 1000 feet of a park with a firearm enhancer.
● Possession of a schedule II substance within 1000 feet of a park with a firearm enhancer.
● Possession of Methamphetamine paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia.
● Child Neglect.
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted on scene by Lafayette County Human Services.
“This case remains under investigation and will be forwarded to the Lafayette County District Attorney’s Office for evaluation of additional charges. As always, all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” Gill said.
