MONROE - In a meeting Wednesday, the City of Monroe Salary and Personnel Committee:
Approved sharing 50/50 the costs for employee flu shots.
Accepted the resignation of City Building Inspector David Powers and authorized City Clerk Carol Stamm to advertise for a new inspector, with the job description to be updated as required.
Approved Mayor Ron Marsh to find a independent inspection company to issue permits and certificates on a short-term, temporary basis, for a cost that is "no more than now" being spent for the work. Marsh said the issuing of permits cannot be stopped in view of construction in progress in the city.
Approved vacation carry-over for the head maintenance person.
Approved 52 hours of vacation carry-over, to be used before end of year, for the city clerk.
