MONROE - Two people arrested on marijuana-related charges last Tuesday made their initial appearance Thursday in Green County Circuit Court.
Blake L. Schneider, 56, and Jean C. Anderson, 60, both of Argyle, remained jailed Friday on $5,000 cash bonds. A preliminary hearing for Schneider and Anderson was scheduled for Jan. 14 before Green County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Vale. At the preliminary hearing, the court will determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to an arraignment hearing.
Schneider is charged with manufacture/deliver marijuana, a class E felony; possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class F felony; maintaining a drug trafficking place, a class I felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than 21 years in prison and more than $85,000 in fines, if convicted. Anderson is charged with manufacture/deliver marijuana, a class E felony; possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class F felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. She faces more than 17 years in prison and more than $75,000 in fines, if convicted.
Schneider and Anderson were arrested following a search at about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday of their residence at W8507 Meadow Brook Lane near Argyle. Agents from the State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT), along with the Green County Sheriff's Department Special Response Team, took part in the arrests.
Agents seized 206 growing marijuana plants and 8,359 grams of processed marijuana. The marijuana plants were grown in rooms in the basement of the house as well as an exterior steel building.
The drugs seized were valued about $224,500, according to officers.
High intensity grow lights; exhaust fans; scales; packing materials; seven guns, six long guns and one handgun; one truck; two sports utility vehicles; one tractor; three motorcycles; one all-terrain vehicle; and a generator were also seized.
