BROOKLYN - One person was found dead at the scene of a house fire in Brooklyn Sunday afternoon.
The Green County Sheriff's Department was alerted at about 1 p.m. Sunday to W166 Amidon Road in Brooklyn township to check on the welfare of a man who was reported to be making threats to harm himself.
The home was on fire when deputies arrived and a family member was trying to enter the structure, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department. Heat and smoke were too intense for anyone to enter. The Brooklyn Fire Department arrived and put out the fire and a male was found deceased inside the residence.
No other subjects were involved in this incident and foul play is not suspected, sheriff officials said. The name of the victim has not been released.
