New alcohol license fees set in Monroe

MONROE - The City of Monroe Common Council set new annual fees for alcohol beverage licenses Tuesday:

Class A Intoxicating Liquor $500

Class B Intoxicating Liquor $500

Class A Fermented Malt Beverage $100

Class B Fermented Malt Beverage $100

Class C Wine $100

Operator's license $40

Fermented Malt Beverage Wholesale $25

Temporary Class B Fermented Malt Beverage $10

Temporary Class B Wine $10

Council voted 8-1 to approve the fees. Alderman Charles Koch voted against the resolution.

Class A license permit the sale of alcohol by the package for consumption off premises; Class B permits sales by the drink for consumption on premises and a limited amount of sales by the package for consumption off premises.
