National Historic Cheesemaking Center: Burke Cheese factory

Shown in the late 1940s or early 1950s in the "making room" of the Burke Cheese factory, is cheesemaker Lee Martin Riese with wife Bernice and sons, William (Bill) and David (Dr. Dave), both currently of Monroe. The Burke Cheese Factory was located west of Darlington in Lafayette County and made predominantly Swiss cheese.
