Motorcyclist critically injured after crash
motorcycle accident

TOWN OF WIOTA — An Argyle man critically injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday was in fair condition at a Madison hospital as of Monday morning, a hospital representative reported.

Terry L. Seffrood, 42, was flown by MedFlight helicopter to the University of Wisconsin Hospital with life-threatening injuries following the accident in Lafayette County south of Argyle.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. near the “Five Corners” intersection along Wisconsin 78 in the Town of Wiota, according to Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gill.

Seffrood was northbound on Wis. 78 when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer in the road, lost control of the motorcycle and slid into the east ditch.

He was not wearing a helmet, Gill said.

The 2009 Harley Davidson, registered to Melanie L. Carius, 38, Argyle, was severely damaged and towed.

The Argyle and Wiota Fire Departments, Argyle EMS and Wiota First Response assisted deputies and MedFlight personnel at the scene.
